Important factors influencing dairy cow production - rumen and hoof health
The seminar for cattle breeders, which took place on June 9 at the Tři Věžičky Hotel, focused on the issues of efficient feed ration utilization and dairy cow health in relation to rumen pH, as well as the impact of mycotoxins. Another topic covered was hoof care.
The opening lecture by Aurelien Piron, Lallemand France, focused on the key role of the rumen in fiber utilization and feed cost reduction. This was followed by a presentation by our colleague Ing. Kateřina Mrvová, who introduced the audience to the negative effects of mycotoxins in dairy cow feed rations. The second part of the seminar was opened by MVDr. Jan Vobr from Zdravé stádo s.r.o., who addressed the issue of hoof care management in cattle. A specific hoof care program was presented by a representative of the Dutch company Intracare BV - Mr. Symon de Jong.
