How can bull rearing be made more efficient? The answer is very simple – improve the utilization of your feed ration and try to calm the animals down.
What happens if the feeding goes wrong? What about lower quality edges or surface layers of silage pits? The most common answer on farms is "we will feed that to the bulls." It is as if it does not matter at all what the bulls are fed, what health problems may consequently arise, and what their lifetime gain will be.
However, among beef cattle breeders, farmers are beginning to emerge who monitor feed for beef cattle just as carefully as they do for dairy cows. Such a farmer will not allow low-quality pieces of feed to go into the TMR for bulls.
