On November 19, the traditional seminar for pig, poultry and egg producers took place
On Tuesday, November 19, 2019, the traditional breeders' seminar entitled New Trends in Pig and Poultry Production was held in the congress hall of the Amande Hotel in Hustopeče.
In the introduction, executive directors Bohumír Šimerda and Petr Šafránek spoke, introducing the ADDICOO company, acquainting the participants with its establishment, structure, activities and operations. Bohumír Šimerda then focused more closely on the company's activities related to the development in the field of mycotoxin binding and deactivation. He spoke about the efficacy of the Fortisorb Phyto product, which represents effective protection against the negative effects of toxins and achieves up to 99% adsorption of toxins contained in feedstuffs. The high adsorption efficiency of the product is documented by a number of in-vivo and in-vitro tests carried out in the USA, Brazil, Germany and the Czech Republic. Petr Šafránek further spoke about long-term research on fatty acid esters, the development of the Fortibac product line, the aim of which is to reduce the use of antibiotics in farming and improve gut health. He demonstrated the effects of the Fortibac product on tests performed in broilers (increase in live weight, reduction in feed conversion, decrease in mortality), commercial and breeding layers (increase in laying percentage, decrease in mortality). Trials were also conducted with the Fortibac F Plus product, which was specially developed for a healthy digestive tract and higher performance of sows and piglets. The tests confirmed the product's effect on increasing the live weight of weaned piglets and, in pre-fattening piglets, a higher average daily gain and higher piglet weight.
Arjan van de Vondervoort, a representative of Intracare BV, Netherlands, followed with his lecture entitled Effective Procedures for Disinfection of the Environment and Drinking Systems in Pig and Poultry Farming. Intracare BV is a market leader in stable hygiene products and offers a comprehensive range of products meeting the highest quality and safety requirements, which comply with European directive regulations. Since August of this year, ADDICOO has become the exclusive distributor of Intracare BV for the Czech and Slovak markets. Van de Vondervoort presented a disinfection program aimed at reducing the amount of pathogenic bacteria, fungi and yeasts. Safe drinking water is guaranteed by the Intra Hydrocare product, which removes biofilm from the entire drinking system while simultaneously disinfecting the drinking water and reducing the pathogen pressure on animals, because as was emphasized several times during the presentation, "disinfection without cleaning makes no sense". Intra Hydrocare can be used for cleaning and disinfection between batches as well as in the presence of animals. The Intra Multi-Des GA product, on the other hand, is very effective for environmental disinfection. Its advantage is a high degree of wetting and the ability to penetrate deep into uneven surfaces.
This was followed by a lecture by Assoc. Prof. Ivan Rychlík from the Veterinary Research Institute in Brno on the topic Latest Knowledge on the Development and Changes of Animal Microbiota and Their Impact on Performance. Ivan Rychlík familiarized the attendees with the issue of the development of intestinal microflora in layers and pigs and the tests performed on the success of colonizing the digestive tract of chickens and piglets. Bacteria from the digestive tract can be used to colonize young animals in the first days of life, and it is always advisable to build on the principles of microflora transfer from the hen to the chicken, or from the sow to the piglets.
At the end of the seminar, Ole Skovbøll from the Danish company Eskerod & Skovbøll spoke about the development of agricultural commodity prices in a European and global perspective, potential impacts and strategies for pig, poultry and egg producers. Eskerod & Skovbøll has 20 years of experience in analyzing agricultural commodity markets and cooperates with Danish farmers in the areas of risk management, strategic planning and business development. The lecture focused on the expected development of the global grain and soybean market, as well as price development trends for poultry and pork and the associated influencing factors, potential risks and recommendations.
