Diagnosis of symptoms and prevention of heat stress in ruminants
Heat stress affects the performance and welfare of all ruminant species. This was clearly demonstrated for the first time by extensive ethological studies in dairy cows (Burgos and Collier 2011), which confirmed short-term drops in performance and long-term problems with health and overall welfare in animals exposed to heat stress.
